Bechterew Syndrome

Bechterew Syndrome is a chronic systemic disease of the joints with a predominant localization of the process in the sacroiliac joints, vertebral joints and paravertebral soft tissues. The defeat of the axial skeleton with Bechterew's disease predominates over the lesion of the peripheral joints, while the joints of the cartilaginous type, sacroiliac joints, small intervertebral joints, sternoclavicular and rib-chest joints, are affected primarily. Inflammatory process in joints is caused by immunological mechanisms.
